South American palm with exceptionally straight trunk to 50'. Arching, bright glossy green leaves 10-15' long break in high wind. Grows quickly with fertilizer. Subject to mites; wash young plants frequently. Damaged at 25 degree F, but has recovered from 16 degree F freeze.
